Job Description: QC Lab Assistant

Position Summary:

The QC Lab Assistant supports the Quality Control department by performing routine laboratory tasks to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory standards. This role is critical in maintaining SNI’s high-quality standards by assisting with sampling, testing, documentation, and sanitation within the laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine laboratory tasks such as sample preparation, labeling, and organization.
• Assist in conducting basic quality control tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods under the guidance of senior lab technicians.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results and enter data into quality systems or logs.
• Monitor and maintain lab cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with GMP and food safety guidelines.
• Properly dispose of laboratory waste following safety protocols.
• Assist with calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment as directed.
• Support in verifying and organizing Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and other quality documentation.
• Communicate effectively with production and QA teams regarding sampling and testing timelines.
• Adhere to all company safety, food safety, and quality standards and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or associate degree in science, food science, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing lab or quality environment is a plus but not required.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and terminology.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Excel, Word, data entry).

Work Environment:

• Laboratory and production floor environment
• Exposure to temperature variations, noise, and strong odors typical of a food processing facility
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
