We are seeking a Director of Quality Assurance (QA) to lead and scale our QA organization across software, hardware, and automation testing . This role is responsible for establishing a structured, scalable, and automated QA process , ensuring high-quality software and hardware releases. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in QA leadership , a deep understanding of test automation, CI/CD integration, and quality metrics , and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

As the QA Director , you will be accountable for product quality , establishing best practices, driving test automation, and ensuring that software and hardware meet the highest standards before release. You will build and mentor a global team , work closely with development, product management, and support teams , and drive initiatives that improve efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and own the QA vision, strategy, and execution across all engineering teams.
  • Build and lead a global QA team (US & India) , fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence .
  • Ensure alignment between QA, Development, Product Management, and Customer Support .
  • Implement real-time dashboards and reporting for clear visibility into QA performance.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for major quality issues.

Process Standardization & Quality Metrics

  • Establish consistent QA processes across teams, ensuring standardization in testing methodologies.
  • Implement key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, test coverage, test cycle time, automation progress).
  • Ensure 95%+ of software releases have no major post-release defects.
  • Drive QA best practices for functional, regression, performance, security, and UAT testing .

Test Automation & CI/CD Integration

  • Lead a dedicated test automation team to increase automation coverage (goal: 90% for web & mobile).
  • Develop and implement AI-powered testing solutions to reduce test creation time.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, more reliable releases.
  • Reduce overall test cycle time by 75% through automation and process improvements.

Software & Hardware Testing Improvements

  • Address hardware test coverage gaps and work closely with the hardware engineering team .
  • Set up QA labs (Kastle East Lab) to replicate real-world testing environments.
  • Establish rigorous end-to-end testing for software and IoT/embedded devices.

Collaboration & Cross-Team Alignment

  • Partner with Product Management to ensure thorough user acceptance testing (UAT) .
  • Work closely with Support & Solutions teams to proactively identify and resolve customer-reported defects .
  • Ensure QA teams are aligned with key customer priorities to prevent escalations.

Hiring & Team Development

  • Hire, mentor, and develop QA Leads and Automation Engineers .
  • Foster a high-performance, data-driven QA culture with clear career growth paths.
  • Ensure cross-training between US and India teams to eliminate knowledge silos.
Qualifications

  • 10+ years of QA experience , with 5+ years in a leadership role .
  • Proven ability to scale QA processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong experience in test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps integration .
  • Hands-on expertise in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Knowledge of AI-powered testing methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience in hardware and IoT testing is a significant advantage.
  • Strong understanding of quality metrics, performance monitoring, and reporting .
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills , with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in distributed global teams (US & India) .
  • Background in cloud-based applications, SaaS, or embedded systems .
  • Familiarity with GenAI -based test automation frameworks .
  • Prior experience in setting up and managing QA labs .
