Summary You will serve as a Physical Security Specialist in the Command Operations Department, Security Division of FLTREADCEN EAST. This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities You will manage the physical protection of sensitive or classified information, personnel, facilities, installations, or other sensitive material. You will provide oversight and management of security requirements such as, program security, document control, personnel security, physical security, and operations security. You will investigate security infractions and report to the Government Program Security Officer (PSO) on findings. You will coordinate with the PSO or program directors on security issues affecting flying training security operations. You will oversee the generation and maintenance of databases which reflect receipt, storage, inventory and disposition of classified information. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing the physical protection of sensitive or classified information; 2) Developing security policies to ensure that sensitive information, equipment and other material is not compromised; 3) Providing day-to-day security management and oversight in accordance with guidelines and directives; and 4) Investigating security infractions/violations and reporting such matters to the appropriate officials.
