Under general supervision, the associate will accurately and efficiently select products in the warehouse. Prepare products for shipping by stacking in an orderly and stable configuration, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities include reading customer orders from label screens and selecting products by slot and description, assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders on pallets in the proper sequence, attaching labels on products, properly operating an electric pallet jack to proceed to correct slot location and transport product to dock area for staging, handling products with necessary care, reporting any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility to a supervisor, performing daily equipment checks, assisting in the clean-up of the facility and signing off on the daily cleaning area assigned by the supervisor, signing in and out for all equipment when used, using basic communication skills to understand work systems and instructions, adhering to all applicable GMP, personal hygiene, and SQF policies and procedures as described in the European Imports – Sysco Food Safety Training Manual, and performing other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications include being at least 18 years of age, 0-1 year relevant work experience, frequently lifting products weighing 10lb - 75lbs and up to 100lbs, frequently reaching up to 72 inches, constantly bending and twisting while operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, retrieving products from lower shelf areas, working in very extreme temperatures (cooler and/or freezer), and working on feet for 10-12 hours daily. Preferred qualifications include 1 year experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, 1 year of warehouse, military, or physically active job experience, 1 year selection experience, and 2 years consistent work history preferred.
