(PT) Public Health Lead Prevention Specialist Join to apply for the (PT) Public Health Lead Prevention Specialist role at HILL COUNTY (PT) Public Health Lead Prevention Specialist 3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the (PT) Public Health Lead Prevention Specialist role at HILL COUNTY Position Public Health Lead Prevention Specialist, Part-time (20 hours/week) Department Health Department Accountable To: Public Health Director/Health Officer Summary Of Work Under the Task Order from MTDPHHS, this position will work under the Montana Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) to coordinate lead poisoning prevention activities in Hill County. Responsibilities include providing lead screening and environmental assessments, maintaining documentation, collaborating with healthcare providers, and developing educational materials. This role is funded through a grant running from 9/30/2024 to 9/29/2025, with potential for extension. Job Characteristics Nature of Work: Conduct lead testing of children, educate on lead poisoning, and participate in prevention activities. Travel for offsite educational opportunities and meetings is required. Hazards include exposure to infected body fluids, chemicals, and sharp instruments, with adherence to safety precautions. Personal Contacts: Daily contact with the public in person or by phone. Essential Functions Perform medical testing such as CPR, finger sticks, and operate testing equipment. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports. Travel as needed for educational and community outreach activities. Requirements Education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited program in nursing, health promotion, community health, or environmental health. Preferred experience includes public health. A valid Montana drivers license and personal vehicle are required. Fundamental duties include performing assigned tasks, providing case management, conducting lead screenings and home assessments, and maintaining accurate records. Demonstrates punctuality, professionalism, and effective communication skills.
