Essential Functions Responsible for designing, implementing, and automating enterprise network infrastructure using Cisco technologies, network automation tools, and modern DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco platforms, network security, infrastructure as code (IaC), and the ability to optimize and secure network operations across cloud and on-prem environments. Duties and Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network solutions using Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network solutions align with security, compliance, and performance standards. Develop network automation scripts and workflows using Python, Ansible, or other automation tools to streamline device provisioning, configuration, and management. Leverage infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Git to maintain version-controlled, repeatable network deployments. Architect and support secure, scalable cloud networking environments across Azure and hybrid infrastructures. Deploy and manage SD-WAN solutions to optimize network performance, resiliency, and cost-efficiency across distributed sites. Ensure network architectures and configurations meet compliance requirements defined in NIST SP 800-171 and 800-53. Integrate network infrastructure with ServiceNow and other ITSM tools to support automated change management and incident response processes. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and proactively address system reliability and latency concerns. Implement and manage secure connectivity solutions including VPNs, ACLs, VLAN segmentation, and firewall rules. Participate in the development of CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure updates and configuration changes. Document network designs, standards, and operational procedures for team knowledge sharing and audit readiness. Qualifications - Required Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience as a Cisco Network Engineer or similar role. Deep understanding of Cisco technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. Experience configuring and managing enterprise network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP). Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure networking components, including hybrid connectivity and VPNs. Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, access control lists (ACLs), and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). Solid understanding of network security principles and hands-on experience with firewalls, NAC, and IDS/IPS. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for network automation and tooling. Experience with network automation and CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions. Familiarity with ServiceNow for ITSM and operational workflows related to network infrastructure. Proficiency in version control systems, especially Git and GitHub Enterprise, for configuration management. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams. Understanding of network and security best practices. Qualifications - Optional/Desired Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate; additional certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist are a plus. Experience with automated network testing and validation tools (e.g., Batfish, Cisco NSO, or custom Python-based test frameworks). Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices, particularly in incident, change, and problem management related to network operations. Familiarity with network monitoring and logging tools such as Cisco DNA Center, SolarWinds, Splunk, or Azure Monitor. Experience working in or supporting Government Community Cloud (GCC, GCC High, or DoD) environments. Understanding of compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171 and SP 800-53, with experience applying network controls in regulated environments. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Splunk. Working knowledge of containerized environments (e.g., Docker) and how they integrate with enterprise networks.
